Nvidia has published its latest set of quarterly results, for the three month period ending 25th October, 2015. The green team's bean counters refer to this most recent quarter as Q3 FY16. Nvidia's results were good, topping revenue guidance and its shares have risen as much as nine per cent in afterhours trading.

Overall highlights of the financial results are bullet pointed below:

Record revenue of $1.305 billion, up 7 percent from a year ago, up 13 percent sequentially
GAAP operating income of $245 million, up 15 percent from a year ago
Quarterly cash dividend raised 18 percent to $0.115 per share. Company to return $1 billion to shareholders in fiscal 2017
Behind the above headline figures, the beating heart of Nvidia - its graphics processors for PCs, was the star performer. Nvidia is trying to diversify and cut its reliance upon PC gaming graphics but revenue from this part of its business rose 44 per cent to deposit $761 million in the company coffers this quarter. Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang commented that "PC gaming is our biggest business. When it grows, it really grows." Demand for PC graphics was particularly strong in developing countries where eSports games are becoming more popular.

Nvidia doing very well again in the last Q.

Those 3.5GB 970's sold well. Too bad the general public knew no better.

Come on man, stop it. I ran a 970 at the same time as a 290X and really there was no difference and I couldn't tell you what was in what machine when just looking and playing the most demanding games of the time. If there was an issue, I would have noticed it but there wasn't.

The 970 is a great card, as it the 390.

Does anyone actually care besides the rabid fanboys? OOh multi billion dollar company has pockets jingling with cash, and?

Really don't understand the point of threads like this.

Yer, I do and I like to see the PC components makers doing well. I consider it a hobby and want to still be doing it long into the future. I have no wish to play on a tablet/console and this is why I make these type of threads.

I do the same for AMD as well, albeit they are not doing so well at the mo but with Zen and Greenland on there way, hopefully some up news for AMD coming in the future.

+2 it's hardly a pat on the back is it? they're not sharing it either.

and all the nvidia staff will ask for a pay rise and nvidia will report a downward trend in the last quarter and say sorry guys we cant afford a pay rise, well thats how it goes where i work

What is this sorcery, I thought the PC GPU market was collapsing?

No sorcery, it's the same pie. Just Nvidia is getting a bigger slice, as AMD's market share goes down Nvidia's goes up.

Next year the pie should get even bigger, with the introduction of real tech progress and performance improvements. Should create market growth. Interesting to see what happens to AMD's and Nvidia's slices of it then..

Great overall results but yet against Tegra did terrible and pulled down the value of the company. They really need to write Tegra off after wasting so much money on it. That’s well over 1,000 million that could have been better spent or past onto shareholders. It doesn’t look like Tegra is going make a profit any time soon, if anything its falling further into loss. Still everything else looks good.

Why bother reading in it and posting in it, could have just clicked back and forgot about it.

Don;t bother answering, its is rhetorical question, I fully know why you made the above post.
