i have seen many a person state that all the nvidia cards are made at one facotry and the partners just add a bundle sticker and waranty.

wheres the evidence of this?

and do ati (partners) do this?

All the different brands are a real waste of time. It's always funny when sites do a review round-up of 4 of the same card.

I'm in the same boat, I've heard Foxconn are supposedly the main manufacturer for nVidia but I've never managed to find anything.

Foxconn don't seem to mention anything on any other their sites, and nVidia only ever reference to Foxconn when they're talking about Launch Partners for upcoming graphics cards - even then Foxconn only ever are Launch Partners in either Europe or Asia.

General rule of thumb, Wiki doesn't always stand up as a "It says it on Wiki, it must be true" because for all that counts for, you could have edited it before you posted the link :p

That said, a quick scan of that link for the word nVidia and it only appears once.

Graphics cards

In March 2006, Foxconn branched into the manufacture of graphics cards, starting with a GeForce 7900GTX (branded as PX7900GTX) at clock speeds of 550 MHz / 1320 MHz for the core and memory respectively, but with intentions to market both NVIDIA and ATi boards. Foxconn also released the very popular Foxconn 7900GS, one of the most popular graphics cards on the market. The Foxconn 7900GS has a large user fanbase, because of its low price and high clockspeeds. Foxconn has released a 768MB 8800GTX card as well, with clock speeds comparable to the established competition.

Nothing there that says they're the main manufacturers.

Never said that Wikipedia is always right, but wouldn't you think that when everyone believes this, it must be true to some extent?

Besides that the list of other electronics they manufacture should mean that there's a good chance of them also manufacturing Nvidia chips.

http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-337-1.htm says some of the same.

More of the goods here, from when the deal originally happened two years ago:

No..lol.

It probably is foxconn but the actual argument 'but wouldn't you think that when everyone believes this, it must be true to some extent?' is flawed.

A lot of people believe a lot of things but it doesn't mean it's true.

Just my two cents.

Like I say probably 'foxconn' but I'm saying that 'cos other people say it is' lol.

Not entirely sure, but I think at least for the 8800 GT (probably goes for the 8800 GTS and 9800 GTX, too) it's Foxconn and Flextronics. Although some partners like XFX actually have their own manufacturing facilities (or so I'm told) and make (some of?) the cards themselves. I know they did this with some 8800 GT 256MB cards.

What about companies like Galaxy that don't follow the reference designs? I'm pretty sure they made their own card.....
