Nvidia Client... less ppd now?

Has there been a recent change to the client or work units, or maybe even the scoring?!

Quite often now when i have a wee look my 8800gt is pulling about 4500ppd, it was gettin about 5000 till recently?

Any ideas...?

Its a combination of a newer project, 5748, and a newer core, 1.19. The new project works on larger proteins, and requires the download of the 1.19 core for increased stability and less EUEs. The new units are worth 511 points, but take quite a bit longer to compute - im getting reductions from about 5000ppd per card to 3-3.5k. The new 1.19 core is a little slower (~10% - back to speeds before the 1.15 etc core) for the older units (5506 etc), which is not so good. Which all means some new science, but less points...

Mainly the WUs really. The 511 pointers are much slower to work through than the 480 pointers.

Oddly one of my cards has recieved the forced download of core 1.19 (resulting in the old good WUs giving me 4850ppd instead of 5250) but my my other card still has 1.15

Yep, mine's now done the same...

I had one unit last week that used 1.19, then it went back to using 1.15 till yesterday, when it told me the core was out of date and d'ld 1.19 which it's been using exclusively since.

Say goodbye to 500ppd! :mad:
