Hi Guys,

Just want somebody to explain to me about nvidia control panel and the whole 3D settings etc.

Now then, for the passed 5 years ive always had it set to: let the 3D application decide but since recently playing Bad Company 2, it runs poop!

So i was wondering, if i want to use the settings that i choose in a specific game is this setting i want or do i choose one of the other two: Use Advanced 3D Settings / Use My Preference Emphasising?

Thanks

The settings that are set in the nvidia control panel will be used throughout your whole computer, unless you change the specific programs settings.

e.g. BF:BC 2, you could turn AA up, or resoultion in the game etc, then once you return to your desktop (or other games) the nvidia control panel settings will take over.

Out of interest, what card are you using (could't see it in your sig)?

Nice. It should be running pretty sweet then with your setup.

Make sure you have the latest patch for Bad Company 2 installed (they did have a few problems on the first day of release, but its meant to be sorted now. Also make sure your drivers for the 295 are up to date.

I doubt it would be a problem for the 295, but what resolution are you playing at?

Ok, maybe try tweaking the settings on the nvidia control panel then (advanced settings), either choose performance or quality (or meet them half way).

When you say 'runs poop', do you mean you're getting poor FPS or something else?

I had a problem running Direct 3D Overrider to enable Tripple Buffering, and for some reason it run like a dog..
Turned Direct 3D Overrider off, and was fine.. this was with 275 SLI.

So if you are running it, turn it off.. :)
Also, i had my cpu @4ghz, run bad, went down to 3.9, and was spot on. thats with the old C/O stepping.
could even be GTX card overclocked to much.
