NVidia controlling pricing?

yup illegal in the EU and especially UK, it comes under anticompetitism, (i presume this is about companies collaborating on pricing or there abouts) .. apparently the regulator on this in the UK is megga strict, and has powers near to that, and sometimes better than the police, for example they dont need a search warrant, they just sign their own papers, and march into any businesses premises.... Its all to stop price fixing and stopping business cartels...

I think NV may have backed themselves into a corner if the info about the cost and yields of the GT200 chips is right. The margins are meant to be pretty bad already on the GTX280, I'm sure they're extremely limited in how much they can drop the price, saying that, I'm really appalled at OCUK's price on the 280s, how do they think they'll sell any when they're £70 more than they should be? No wonder they've got their 'no competitors' rule. They must think some people think OCUK are the only online store in the world.

You have a great point, but i'm sure the yields will improve quite quickly, it is the price of bringing these cards out so quickly :) They will probably turn a good profit on them for a few months after the summer holidays and then make the switch to 55nm slowly. The cards are really in ATI's hands right now, if we can get a ~200£ card that works great, they have the market.

Yeah this is illegal in the UK but as with all things there are holes in the legislation that can be and given how nvidia seem to be acting will be exploited. They really are going all out to **** everyone off arn't they all these shinanigans just make me more determined to get an Ati card tbh thats the best way to hit nvidia.
