Nvidia display driver has stopped working with skyrim

Hello i have recently been getting a lot of these messages that cause skyrim to crash to desktop. Nvidia display driver has stopped working and successfully recovered.

Its making Skyrim unplayable which is very annoying. Does anyone have any tips on how i can fix this?

My specs are:
E8500 Intel 3.2ghz
9800gtx+
750i Motherboard
4gigs ram
700w power supply

i have completely wiped my drivers and installed new ones(using driver sweeper). Including the 275.33 drivers that aperently fix the issue but it hasnt worked for me.

I get this when I overclock my GPU too high in MSI, maybe it's because it's too much strain?

I get the same thing with 285.79, and a slight OC, but it only crashes with Skyrim so I guess they just need to fix it with the next driver update.

Try running memtest86+ or run just 1 stick of ram and see if this solves your problem. I had bum memory once which caused this kind of problem but 1 stick ran fine.

TDR errors are as common as muck with Nvidia. What solved it for me was a combination of the latest drivers and setting 'Prefer Maximum Performance' in the driver CP. (Set to 'Adaptive' by default).
