Nvidia driver instructions removals the right way?

I was casually looking around the Nvidia site earlier, and see that they have what I would call quite an odd way of removing the old drivers then installing the new ones.

Would the best idea be to boot into safe mode, use Driver Cleaner Pro, then boot back into normal windows and install the new drivers then? Or have I been doing this the wrong way all this time?
 
Add/Remove to un-install the old driver>> Retart to Safe mode >> Go to Device Manager to uninstall the unknown vid card >> Driver Cleaner Pro >> restart then install the new driver :D
