Nvidia Driver,s are very poor

After trying all the settings available and using the Nvidia helps I decided it was not the settings.

I double checked the cables and then googled it. I found that loads of people had the same problem with Nvidia & also ATI cards.

I have just got the card so like anyone else Iinstalled the lates driver 84.21

I thought I would be away with no problems, then the frustration started.

I read a post on a forum that an other user used a different driver (81.98) and it worked with out changing anything in the settings (at this point anything was worth a go).

Settings are below

"Dual View (other options like clone, Extended decktop available)

TV format I/PAL

Advanced settings = Auto Detect

Cable the same from S-Video to tv stark sckt".

In my opinion it is down to driver faults not settings or hardware.

Hope that helps Nikolic, Energizer.

You seem to have covered:-
1. Set output PAL/I
2. Set output to S-Video

Have you checked
3. Fully wired S-video cable (some are not)
4. A scart socket which is set for input into the TV rather than output.
5. You are plugging it into a S-video enabled scart socket (as not all are esp if they are RGB enabled).
6. You select S-video input on the TV menu if the scart input is not auto sensing.

Having a B&W picture is a dead giveaway that some setting is set to composite. S-video separates the picture information from the colour info. If something is set to composite then the picture pin is read from the S-video but the three other pins with the colour info is ignored.

I had this exact problem once.

Only way I cured it was to set output to composite.

The problem you may have is that on some Nvidia drivers there is no option to set to composite output.

I found a way around that though, at the time.

If the option is there, try composite output mate. :)

change your drivers simple as, its not hard even my grandmother did it with no problems.

like spelling.... i know i aint the greatest, its only a driver bug and you would be hard pushed to find drivers that are perfect for any company. if your scared to change your drivers... your not gonna get far with computers

/end rant

PS the drivers arnt poor just because they display b/w instead of colour i myself have no problems what so ever but thats me and maybe i have chosen and setup my drivers properly
The first half of your post is purely a personal attack, which on many forum's rules will lead to a ban.

You also recognised that you were being hypocritical to even mention spelling.

I think these problem threads are a lot more informative than the ones about "I got 1000Ghz gpu clock with 3v on air woot!".
