Hi,

As you can see from the title, my GTX 760 is having some problems. I bought it a couple of weeks back, and since then it's just been going downhill :( I had to reinstall windows multiple times, and now the OS seems fairly stable, can't run any game without crashing. I loaded up DayZ, and it worked fairly ok (apart from a couple of stutters) for a few minutes. Then I got the major problems; every 2/3 seconds the screen would completely stop, then carry on slowly for a couple of seconds, then stop, then carry on etc. I closed the game, and waited for the system to respond. It took a couple of minutes, but in the end the screen went blank for 10-ish seconds, and the message "nVidia drivers have stopped working and successfully recovered" showed up above the tray. I ran a MSI stress test and the same thing happened, except the drivers didn't crash this time. I force shut down and restarted, and everything was fine again. I can't seem to narrow down the problem, can anyone help?

Thanks

Yep, latest BIOS - updated earlier today, the notes said "Improved PCI-E somethingorother" or along those lines. How would I go about underclocking?

Try different drivers and see if you still get it. Not sure what ones to recommend though. If you still get it, RMA time sadly.

What brand 760? Check their website for a bios update.

Asus one. Well, it seems the downgrade of drivers has done the trick, though not run thoroughly yet. Will know in about an hour.

Well anyway, it hasn't been fixed. Was just playing minecraft and the same thing bleeding happened - anything else I could do?

Last thing to check before it needs returning is, run MSI Afterburner and while on Desktop, check GPU usage is low (325Mhz I think). There have been cases of the GPU working to full load on desktop and it crashed drivers and this was because of a bitcoin virus.

Worth checking, just to be sure but other than that, I am out of ideas and feel it will need returning.
