Howzit Guys,

I've downloaded the Nvidia drivers for my new Linux (Ubuntu 7:10) setup. However when I double click them not much happens. Does anyone know how to install these drivers?

Much appreciated! :D

I cannot connect Internet to my Linux setup for now. So I need an offline installation, if possible?

Thank you.:)

well I don't know if it differs for debian based distros, but typically it goes a little something like this (at a terminal);

sudo init 3
sh NVIDIA-DRIVER-PACKAGE-NAME-HERE
(accept to license etc etc, install as appropriate)
sudo nvidia-xconfig (do a 'man' on this to see options it gives for setup, e.g; dual monitors etc...)
sudo init 6 (to reboot machine)

^make sure you have the source for your kernel installed if you are using that option (not sure what the package is called in Ubuntu though).

If he's got no internet access for the linux box then I think it's a lost cause.

Linux lives on the net. You have to forget the windows way of doing things.

For example... It's not just Nvidia drivers... How are you going to install compiz ... or anything else !! Sure you can keep burning to disk if you really must ...but....Thats a really painful way of going about it..

Also.... Whilst I was typing this...
