Nvidia firewall has corrupted my downloads and my torrents run at 0KBS per second AND my CSS update tsays at 0%. Im on a 4 meg connection and I am using a wireless connection which means torrents etc have also been rendered useless on other pc.

Im on the verge of suicide

Has any1 got like a quick SAFE solution? Bcos I want to play CSS.

I tried to uninstall it but the settings stay on and the system turns off after a few mins. But now I have it back on, but now all my downloads come corrupt and my torrents go at half the speed they supposed to.

Turn it off and install ZoneAlarm free version. If you can't turn it off, re-install the NVidia software and then try to turn it off.

What would installing zone alarm do?

nVidia firewall would still be around and even if I tried unstalling that the comp will freeze after few minutes.

:) Zone Alarm have released a new version 7.0.302.0 the first v7.0 so there must be a few issues with other programs to be fixed.

Their Internet Security Suite includes antispyware & antivirus, that now use the Kaspersky anti-virus engine. Zonealarm caused lockups when using it with Spyware Doctor, but it works well with everything else I have installed.

I am having exactly the same problem with Nvidia Firewall on a new machine. P5N32-E SLI mobo. I Naively let the drivers install the Nvidia ForceWare Network access manager, which - from Googling around- is apparently the problem, and is virtually impossible to get rid of. I certainly can't uninstall it using the normal methods. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

my old abit an8u rig had loads of problems with the nvidia firewall, not installing them is the best bet.

there was a thread about the firewall a while back iirc, do a search and see if the fix is in there.

nVidia firewall has always given me problems and stopped using it about 1.5ms after first installing it.

Try installing the nVidia chipset drivers again, should give you the option to install again but this time JUST SAY NO, you know its the right thing to do kids.

Or you could just go into the firewall settings and switch it off.

Cant restore back bcos its been nearly 1 month since. Turning it off and uninstalling it doesnt make a difference since Downloads are still corrupt.

Presumbly if I install ZoneAlarm and still have nVidia firewall, downloads will still be corrupt?

Its impossible to get rid of.

Trust this lot when they say to get rid of the NVidia firewall mate.

I too used it for a while and it was fine and then I had a few issues that I just could not accept that it was down to the nVidia Firewall at all, and I was adamant that it was somethgin else.

It was not, its was nvidia for sure.

ettign rid of it can be a little bit of a pain, it might need even disabling the LAN port in the BIOS in order to get it out, but seriously... Get rid of it mate. These people are right.

I myself dont use any software firewall anymore, thanks to the forums advise, I have been using my routers firewall and I am happy to say that in the few months that I have been using it. I have not had one single spyware or viral infection at all... Adaware found what? 9 things right after the install, and it has not found anything since... Neither has Spyware Doctor or NoAdware and I am seriosuly considering removing all my AV / Spyware software as I feel its just not worth it anymore... I wont do just in case, but thats how comfortable I feel about it.

Back to the nVidia firewall...

You are already seeing the famous "Corrupt Downloads" issue thats oh so common with NV FireWall so surely thats proof enough to get rid?

I would so very much like to get rid of this. Have tried all of the above but have no luck. Next step is to reformat, but obviously would rather not if anyone has some last suggestions??????????????

What exactly is stopping you from uninstalling it?

If you are having problems, then maybe it needs a combination of options?

ADD / REMOVE PROGRAMS
Select the LAN and FIREWALL, and if this dont help, select the lot.

Maybe you need to reinstall to then turn it off?

DISABLE LAN IN THE BIOS
If you have 2 LAN ports, then use the other one to make sure... Even if the NV Firewall is in, it does not have any control over any other ports and if you have 2 LANs then both will never be nvidia... One will probably be a Gigabit.

Maybe disbale first before you add/remove?

I know when I first tried it, I had some issues removing it, and Im sure I had to reinstall and select NO when it asked about it, but its a while ago, so not 100% sure on that.
