NVIDIA FlameWorks enables cinematic smoke, fire and explosions. It combines a state-of-the-art grid based fluid simulator with an efficient volume rendering engine. The system is highly customizable, and supports user-defined emitters, force fields, and collision objects

How good does the flames look? I want these effects in games.

Maybe something we will see in the upcoming Batman Game?

Never bothered with a batman game tbh , But i like look of this one so will be giving it a go :)
ps Greg will there be dragons in it :D

That's a very impressive demo - incredibly accurate simulations there being done on a graphics card designed primarily for gaming (of course, the Titan is a good compute card as well but it's marketed more towards gaming).

Given that the simulation shown was using a high resolution Voxel grid (512*256*256) as he stated in the video, it is not surprising that the Titan achieves only just over 30fps - however, it is also mentioned that (as one would expect) lower Voxel grid resolutions can be used which will inevitably give significant performance boosts. So with that said I expect we may see slightly toned down FlameWorks effects such as the one demonstrated in Nvidia supported games in the near future.

Last one wasnt made by rocksteady Greg but it was OK. As this is an RS game I have higher hopes for it

Yer, I wasn't such a fan of AA but AC was awesome and proper fancied Talia Al Ghul :D (and I believe she used a form of TressFX).

RockSteady have been working on this for quite some time according to rumours, so I have very high hopes for it.

I hope she makes an appearance :D

Wish they would release tech demos more often like Nvidia use to, Lots of people wanted the fracture demo and the fur demo that debuted the 600 series but Nvidia ignored peoples questions, Same with this :(

The Fire yes, the Smoke not so much, just vanishes far too quick.

Meh. It doesn't impress at all. Such things should already have been implemented long ago.

Well as a Titan is getting 30fps with this demo, if they had implemented it long ago, it would probably crawl at 10fps (not very playable) or less. They will be able to get more fps but it is still a massive drain on GPU power.

AMD working on API stuff, integrating better audio, deals with games, good ability to use cards for mining (don't really care for that one) .

nVidia over here be like: "Hur-hur-hur, look at tha fire"

I really don't care nVidia. Can't you invest your ridiculous amount of money into something better than that?

1) That API will never take over

2) We already have audio.

3) They have game packages also.

4) Mining is a fad and will die but for shorter term they also are to add it to GPU's called Cudacoins AFAIK..

Do you need to buy if you do not like?
