Nvidia Forceware 270.51

just a quick question about updating nvidia drivers as i have only had my gtx 580 for 3weeks
do you
a) remove all video card drivers first
or
b) just install on top of your existing drivers
sorry for the noob question but i can't seem to find a definitive answer

Just install over the top but click on custom install and click " Clean Install " , the little box at the bottom.

Had a weird issue in torchlight on the original installation of these (installed over 267.44) in that the animation clearly jumped every few frames (Gigabyte 480 SE) . Uninstalled all nvidia stuff and found there was still some debris left from ATI drivers I had installed previously (had a 5870) which hadn't showed up before.

Uninstalled the ATI stuff and used genetix_clean (from physx mod) to strip out the rest of the various crap nvidia and ATI leave behind.

Installed 270.51 again and bingo - No skips , faster framerates than I had with the original installation and even no issues with Ambient occlusion in Heaven 2.5

Pretty impressed so far

Good increase in DA2 but still drops to low 30s in combat on my GTX580 so i'll stick to High/DX10 settings to keeps things running smoothly, game stutters a little as well when walking around.

Still not great considering how ****e the game looks.

On my 570GTX running at 1080p, Very high, all effects ticket and 4xAA was running at stable FPS, way over 30fps.

Proving to be really good drivers - DA:2 is really smooth and had some improvements in others such as Rift.
