NVIDIA fps limiter now available on 290.53

I don't get why anyone would need this?

Even at crazy frames you shouldn't get any stuttering etc. I play some old games where I get 800-900 fps and they run like butter.

It reduces tearing while the input lag remains the same.

FPS limiter worked wonders for me in Skyrim, fps never dropped below 30 with it set to 60 and no annoying tearing in most scenarios.

I tried the fps limiter and disabled vsync. The screen tearing was killing me and it made the game jerky. I then enabled vsync but kept the fps limiter to 60fps and found it actually made my game smoother than before. (at least i think it did, could be a placebo i suppose)

i found it the same, might try as you have see if its any better

Gonna give the Vsync and FPS limiter a go (never tried Vsync before :D)

I use vsync in all my games, mainly because otherwise my crossfire system ends up working its nuts off producing high fps. Need vsync to keep it locked at 60. In some games the mouse lag is bad in others not so much. I find it pretty bad in l4d2 but fine in bf3. Both were triple buffered so not sure why.

Tried it with both on and it seems quite smooth (no more jittering on Kharg). Will keep it at that and see how it goes.

Yeah, same. Normally I prefer v-sync disabled but my 5970 makes so much noise in some games it's just not worth it, usually the less demanding games (caused by the high framerate). Might have a look at the framerate limiter in Afterburner but I'm not in a hurry to try it.
