Nvidia G92

oooh great another dual nvidia that will fail to deliver the promised results!

always had nvidia, but now i have the X38-DQ6 and it has crossfire i am seriously thinking about jumping ship to 2 x 3870's or the 3870 x2 and then latter putting a second one in.

nice to hear something different from...

I was just saying it but meant in a patronizing way because this is old news. (Just having a laugh though :))

:D;)

You gonna get one then? Wonder if they will be mobile GPU's like the original GX2?

:D

Ooooh, erm. Probably not. If anything dual is going in my system then it can only be AMD as I have always preferred the Crossfire way. Seen too many problems with my m8 and his 8800GTX's. I know it's a different core and memory interface but I would still stay with AMD in this regard.

I don't think for the money of 2x 3870's or just the new X2 AMD would even persuade me just yet as the difference isn't going to be mind blowing over my GTX. I'm going to be waiting it seems but as everyone knows. It all changes when everyone is showing their new scores, new overclocks and gaming performances. So I won't close the books on doing so but it's unlikely.

What about you?. Does this tempt you, or does the AMD dual GPU?.

Possibly. In the article on vr-zone about the new drivers there's a list at the end of supported hardware.

'G92 8800M GTS' and 'G92 8800M GTX'!

Same cooling issue as last time then - It was only the mobile 7900GTX's they could keep cool when sandwiched so close together :D

The 8800M GTX looked pretty sweet running Crysis on a Laptop in CES 2008 and that was just one of them (I think ).

Andy, you never answered my last post?.

There's nowt that can touch a top end 8800 card at the moment so I wouldn't consider AMD/ATi at the moment. If I'm honest, I wouldn't touch a GX2 with a barge pole anyway, I'd wait until the next "True" GPU is released (i.e. not two current/ old GPU's bolted together.

My GTX goes like a stabbed rat anyway so there won't be any upgrades until something signoficant is released. :)

Solid thinking ;).

Shirley a G92 8800GTX would be an improvement on the current GTX going on the performance of the GT?

It would be yes, but what would be the point if you already have a GTX, probably be like going from a GT to GTS, couple of frames here/there faster, so not worth it, and the buggers would still want £400 for it as well, aye for a card thats over a year old, get out of it. :D
