NVIDIA Geforce Duo 7900GTX 1024MB 2xDVI PCI-E

tried that and it just says I am using the latest drivers for the hardware.

In device manager there is two 7900 Gx2's and in the driver main page it says 1024mb video memory.

so the card is being recognised but it just isn't being utilised in 05?

played half life 2 lost cost and got better results with my 7900 GTX it played like a single 7900 GT even though the 1024 mb ram is reported.

why can't i get the sli bit to work?
I have no sli options in control panel either?

Also tried newest 91.31 drivers? or newest official 84.21?

well there is no sli multi gpu in there. But the odd thing is I reinstalled my 7900 gtx with the 91.31 drivers and after a rebot the sli option was there.

saying I have a sli capable card.

I hav been using modded 91.31's due to the fact that they are the only ones I can get to install.

All the others just say I have no supported hardware. :(

I feel I am so close to getting the second card working so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks sablabra :)

The first obvious thing to me would be to go to genie bios and change support second NV card (I can't remember the name, so sleepy :p ). Also the pci-e frequenzy thing under it(choose between 16-x-x-x and 8-4-nv-8 or something :p ).

Anyhow, I'll go to sleep now, so if you haven't got it sorted out until tomorrow I'll have a deeper look ;) . You're ought to make this working, would be awesome! :D

Well at least you can say you tried, would have been great if you'd have got it up and running.

It is strange though as the place you go it from have that card listed as a current top seller so I wonder how everyone else who has bought one has got on?

Stu

Top seller? They sold 7 in a week lol.

It's the way the cards work... On the board that you have now, the two GPU's on it are GPU 1 and 1. If you were to buy another set of cards, then you'd have GPU's 2 and 2. Then, you'd connect GPU1 number 1 to GPU2 number 1, then GPU1 number 2 to GPU2 number 2. That's how they work in SLi and Quad SLi.... It's like i've been saying from the beginning, i've not seen ANY form of SLi with just one set of these cards.

just a thought, SLi would'nt show up for that card anyway would it, as its not been implemented into the drivers yet for those cards, thats what they are going to put in a later set, or am i talking rollocks again. :D

I wondered about that. I thought it was only system manufacturers that could buy these.

It is!

But they never sold because they were a huge flop for NVIDIA as they were buggy, power hungry and unstable. So now everyone is desperate to get rid of stock and are selling at huge losses.

OcUK's purchasing team was intelligent enough to see what a flop these cards were and avoided them from day one.

7950GX2 is the way to go as it actually works quite well. :)

well mines going back,

exhausted all possibilities on this .

unless anyone has any last minute ideas to get the second card working properly

Ahh well it was worth a try at that price. :)

exactly,

and with me going conroe next week,if its not working with established NF4 then more than likely I will run into problems.

Good fun though.
