*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

More than likely gonna need a new psu as my EVGA 750W G2 probably won’t cut it for a 3080Ti even doh I checked with my specs all the wattage and even at max load it may reach like 710W but it is an older PSU so the capacitors are fairly worn. I have my eyes on a Seasonic Prime 850W Platinum only shame is I will have to re cable manage the majority of my pc

Anyone have any opinions on the KFA2 GeForce RTX 3080 Ți offered for upgrade?

They are built to compete and beat the best that Asus offers, so an ROG Strix and Aorus Extreme competitor. As such at £1250 they are a relative bargain in the current climate as those competing brands products are typically £1700-£2000 elsewhere and the HOF on our own website is priced at £1499 and selling well.

Pretty much all partners are now saying there will be no more shipments on 3080, just LHR versions which if we get enough stock will be made available as paid for upgrades.

I don't think I can afford or justify another £500+ for an upgrade. I'm not going to use the card for anything special. Just wanted a decent graphic card. I've been waiting since I think October 2020 and I'm currently 69th in 3080 TUF queue. So close, but so far. Any options for people that already spent £700+ and don't want to spend anymore? (3070s or rx 6800, 6700 etc)

The main issue is the value proposition of the Ti series is abysmal, if you take cyberpunk, for example, it works out at £100 per 1fps of improvement over a stock 3080 @ 4K, and that's at OC's discounted rate on the KFA's, let alone the current trading full price... Nvidia's problem is they spoilt us with their full die at the beginning which is why this scenario has reared its head. I'd bite on an LHR if the Palit's Gaming Pro's stop movement, but oc had some stock in several weeks ago, and as #10 on the list, here's hoping!

I think 3070Tis are on offer.

You have to thank AMD for this though as it wouldn't have looked great if Nvidia had released the 3080 on the GA104 die with 3 AMD cards which were all faster with only nvidias £1400+ 3090 able to beat them. Nvidia had no choice really.

Thanks for the info, so how would the upgrade work? Would I be paying the additional cost up to 1250 or am I cancelling my order and placing an order for this instead? If so, how would I place that order at the price offered?

Cheers,

Depends on how you paid, I swapped over to a FTW3 3080Ti but I used Amazon Pay so I had to cancel and I waited for the refund to come through and then paid for it today:D

Anyone have any opinions on the KFA2 GeForce RTX 3080 Ți offered for upgrade? I just got mine today, runs quiet, performance seems as expected 100% to 140% faster than two nvidia gtx 980's i took out. it seems like a good quantity bit of kit. the packaging is nice, free gloves in the box and some kind of stand for something.

The stand is to support the card given its weight and it looks like it might be a good idea to use it, as it's shown in use on the offical page (Galax and KFA2 are two names for the same brand, for copyright reasons). https://www.galax.com/en/graphics-card/hof/geforce-rtx-3080ti-hof.html

According to this page the Galax/KFA2 3080 Ti HOF has:

Dimensions 348x156x61 mm with baffle
335x148x61 mm without baffle
3x8-pin PCIE power input
24 power phases (14+6+4)
Dual BIOS (called P-mode and S-mode)
Boost clock 1815 MHz in P-mode and 1725 MHz in S-mode
TDP 400W stock on the P-mode BIOS rising to 450W overclocked

The page also says that the card uses NVIDIA Bin1 chips.

All my research so far indicates that it is a well-respected card targeted at people willing to run a higher wattage overclock. It looks like you may have to use their custom management software rather than something more standard but I haven't been able to clarify that.

Now my current rig is an i7-7700K with a 1080 Ti and a 750W PSU, so I'm wondering how the PSU would cope. I suppose I could run the card in S-mode and maybe undervolt it and set a conservative power limit?

Thoughts welcomed. Also, the above stats are all from a third party site so please correct me if anything is wrong.

HEY! G-MAN, great stuff! finally an end to the suffering!:p hope you can finally have some peace now, and fun, you do realise that the forum addiction is one that is very difficult to break! - very happy for you, peace mate.:) would be great to hear your impressions on it after youve used it for awhile?

Yes it's going to be a hard habit to kick. I even told OCUK CS it's been quite entertaining for the most part but frustrating from time to time. Although I was disapointed about not getting the 3080 but it was short lived once I got my hands on the RTX Haribo OC!!! I'm not much of an overclocker but gave it a minor underclock/undervolt which I did with my 1080ti to much success. My daughter now has the 1080ti to replace her ageing gtx970. She's a graphic designer & it gives her some much needed extra horsepower to her rig. Now just waiting for BF2042 to come around!

Hi I'm #7 in queue for ASUS TUF 3080 NON OC. Can you please clarify for me. If you receive LHR version of ASUS TUF 3080 NON OC, I will have to pay extra?
