Why are some people getting emails with queue position and others are not

Did you notice that there are two different order numbers? One begins with OC and the other has no OC?

Might as well be that the OC one is strictly for the web orders, and the numbers-only one is for the amount of orders since their beginning as a business.

In other news to reiterate on what a few others have said, RTX 3070 pushed back to October 29th.

Note that the email says that they'll continue to send out emails as stock gets sent out, to keep us updated on our queue positions. So hopefully this is the start of more regular updates

Probably they send them alphabetically, by manufacturer name, hence Asus: STRIX / STRIX OC / TUF / TUF OC

Just got my email, Strix OC, ordered 14.19 on 17th - queue position 30. Slightly worse then the unofficial[19] but I am happy with that. Hopefully in the first couple of batches.

There's an internal number and an external number, they're meant to be different. Your original order confirmation email should also contain the 588* number.

Just got my email I am 28th in the EVGA XC3 Gaming Queue, hope we hear some news about EVGA soon as hopefully that would mean I am in the first batch

This is hugely less then what I have seen others report as a time from the unofficial app.
