*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Am still waiting for my Aorus RTX 3080 master ! I ordered it on the release date and currently in the queue am place number 30 the same position as last week ! Like when are they going to get at least 30/50 cards in ?

Btw, nice to have a sensible conversation on this thread without the usual poop flinging. Thank you folks.

sadly, have to be up at 6am to drive the wife to work so I shall bid you a good night.

Eh, Eh! Calm down! You can't simply go calling new orders stupid. I've been a long time lurker (joined the forum in 2008, first purchase well before that) and I've not really looked on here before I ordered an Eagle on day 1. I only ordered that ugly card because it still showed they were in stock with next day delivery. Now I'm #70 in the Eagle queue!

If you go to the Nvidia site right now and click Check Availability on any RTX 30 series card, the only link you'll find in most cases is OCUK. If I had only just decided, right I've got enough cash for a 30xx and I want one, I would probably have done just that. Then you get the OCUK link and pr-order options, then decide 'ok, I'll buy a new card'.

I wouldn't start calling new customers stupid just because they're not up to date with 3080 news, and follow what would be a normal purchase flow. I'm happy to wait for my £650 Eagle as I've got my trusty 1080Ti to use in the meantime. I doubt any of these new purchasers had any idea what they were getting themselves into though, so please be kind ;)

And don't say the class="error" text of "UK and Ireland only due to high demand" is good enough to warn people of the entirety of the situation.

...Anyway, good luck to all you lot, however long you've been here :)
hes only saying if you've been here and read the forum why would you consider purchasing and sitting in a loooooooong queue that hardly moves :)

yes i'd agree if you read this thread and then still ordered then you could be considered stupid lmao :P

Most peoples issue is the fact you dont get the links until AFTER you purchase and you get a queue update. Then it points you to gibbos thread (not here) which has a few updates. I only found this thread because i got bored refreshing gibbos thread and not seeing a change so had a look around. Theres absolutely nothing to make a new purchaser think they will be waiting a long time and this is wrong. If people know the queue is long and still order then i would consider that a bit daft but its their cash and if theyre happy to wait however long then so be it ;) - The lack of transparency whilst taking more and more orders frustrated me. I've cancelled my order and it still frustrates me a bit as we see new purchasers stumbling their way here and we're the ones to tell them they wont see anything this year most likely. Surely thats OCs job and surely that should be made clear BEFORE people buy a place in a queue.

From what other stores have shown, I'm thinking OCUK said to ASUS something like "We want 1000 cards, here's a wall of money". ASUS sends that order bit by bit, and so OCUK doesn't necessarily know how many cards they're getting in each individual shipment.

That being said, it's really not hard for them to email OC and say "hey, there's X amount being shipped to you now". Considering they need to know how much of the order is fufilled this should've been easy, and possibly even automatable.

obviously there's the distributor(s) between OCUK and the companies but the core elements still there

I bet even the delivery notes would say "ok amount" if we were to ask gibbo :P

the fact theres people in the middle "should" mean oc have a better idea of whats coming and when. What gets me is that competitors have told me when they will get this or that card and they've come up exactly when they've said. Not the card i wanted for a few weeks but it shows that some do know whats going on and are happy to share. When i finally got my aorus master they had told me the week before that it would be in stock the next week.

Its shocking how poor the comms are here
so they can’t phone their supplier and say “I ordered 100, how many have you sent me?”
they could and i bet they get email confirmation of shipments too so will know but they will never give numbers for many reasons. They know much, much more than they say and thats what bothers people i think.

I totally agree with that. If they came to this thread before ordering and still went ahead then on their head be it! I was just saying, as you mentioned, OCUK should be making this situation much more public BEFORE people make a purchase and end up in this nightmare :D... The people that fall into the trap really can't be blamed.

This is not even accounting for stuff that can go wrong in transit. OC can get told they are going to get 20 cards but cant account for two of them getting damaged in transit and only having 18 useable turn up, or even worse for them to be rerouted to another vendor. Mistakes can happen from Asus's end where orders get mixed up especially when everything has to be 'get it out the door as fast as you can'. I bet Asus, EVGA, MSI etc has loads of people calling them each day asking where their stock is.

I'm starting to feel with everyone getting cards everywhere else that you don't get one if you pre order here, you are locked in a cage while you watch everyone else get one

I have a preorder in here but I am actively looking elsewhere. No point waiting about if I can get one earlier...
Yeah same, would love to get a FE, what I wanted on day one, and still do,
I think I may get my card some point on the next 2 weeks but who knows anymore lol. Fingers crossed for some deliveries tomorrow!

Locked in a cage, but you are holding the key...

If you don't want to be here just ask for a refund and go hunt down a card elsewhere.

You'd do that if that long queue was the shortest of all possible options. Which it probably is for most people.

If you're hoping to wait and get stock on shelves from other places then you're at the very best gambling that you'll see the product before someone else and get it, but you almost certainly wont, what tiny amount of stock that is shipping is being snapped up instantly. Most other stores also ahve their own preorder queues which need to clear before they will even offer cards on the store.

Most sensible people can also queue here for a card and then if they find one in stock elsewhere they can buy immediately and then cancel their OCUK order. I have little doubt in my mind that there's a whole bunch of people sitting in multiple queues to give themselves the best shot at getting their card early.
