*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I was in queue position 4 since launch and never moved =) Hence why I've had to look for a different card. I don't blame OCUK though - the manufacturers should not have told the retailers to sell cards they hadn't even started manufacturing (and still haven't).

To be fair, we all knew what we were getting ourselves into when we were clicking the pre-order button and handing our money to OCUK.
That's not really true at all.

There was no indication on launch day, how long the wait would be, or what cards would arrive quicker than others.

Money was paid in good faith that there was a supply, if not already on its way, certainly within 6 weeks.

I'm not sure about this. What we are saying is that manufacturers are not supplying OCUK with any info. OCUK, who claim to be the bee's knees regarding stock and supplier relationships. ASUS for example must know how many cards they are making and how many are going where, unless they just make them and ship them out without counting. Unlikely. So someone along the supply chain must know.

OCUK: "So er, we have this many pre-orders, when can we expect them"?
ASUS: "No idea"
OCUK: "They are on the way though"?
ASUS: Well, er, I spoke to John yesterday and he said that they are making some, but no one's counting them or tracking them so they leave the warehouse on Bianca's van and we just hope they get where they are going".

It's possible that info is being hidden by the manufacturer so that pre-orders stay there. It's also possible it is being hidden by the retailer so that pre-orders remain for as long as possible. I simply don't believe that they are all unaware of how many cards are being made and where they are when they are likely to arrive. If they are then it is the most unprofessional system of manufacturing and supplying stock ever.

Embarrassing for manufacturer and retailer.

I can argue abit.. ordered at launch within first 10 minutes and queue started at 88 I knew there would be a wait but didn’t know how long it would end up.
So no I didn’t know what I was in for when I handed them my money how is that daft ?
In fact even you making the comment have no idea what your in for you could be waiting a year or cancel before then or a asteroid could hit the OC warehouse.
Fair enough people who order now or from the last few weeks should understand a bit better.
A lot of us at launch didn’t know it would be THIS bad.
Heck if it really is a “demand issue” rather than a supply issue not even NVidia knew what they were in for so how would customers know ?
I say that it clearly is a supply issue lol

My comment is not a personal attack to anyone who placed their order on launch or even recently. I placed mine on 27/10 got my place in the queue on the 28th. We are all adults here is all I'm saying. We can deal with this I'm sure. And if we can't cope, the option is given to us to cancel and take our hard earned moneys elsewhere. I say this with all due respect.

Such is the nature of the market. We were not forced to hand our salaries to OCUK. We all chose to.

Indeed, information is definitely being withheld down the line somewhere, pretty shocking tbh, Asus definitely know how many cards are knocking about ready for dispatch or in production, the only reason I gone with Asus was EVGA cards aren't even up for pre order, EVGA rep is long gone on here he must have been given the mallet by them giving that they totally ignore the uk market now.

It’s not even just Asus withholding information.

OC were due a delivery of 3090 MSI end of October and there’s not been one update on it.

Even a message saying it’s still not been received and no ETA on it would at least be an update rather than just ignoring it.

You can get a EVGA 3090 in the UK, but not from OCUK.
I think it's something to do with the price OCUK are willing to pay.
Or in this case Not.

Ok I think I just managed to grab a strix - I won't believe it till I see it/it arrives. But potentially now I have a ventus currently in my case, a gamerock and a strix on the way and I'm still queueing here and on the other big site. wtf is going on. I'd just whack them on the members market at cost but unfortunately I don't have many posts even though I've been on the site since forever =p Are people allowed to DM me? Otherwise I'll just send back the ones I don't keep.

In other news..this just arrived:

Now fingers crossed for tomorrow to finish the build!

Most likely a combination of factors:

1. 3080ti incoming, which is likely to be faster than the 3090 and cheaper
2. 3090 potentially being the shortest lived top card of all time, if the 3080ti is the card we think it will be
3. RX6900 - some will not want to give up Nvidia's DLSS, or RT performance, others don't want to play RT at 40-50FPS at 4k

I'm likely going to get the 3080ti as I think it will be the '1080ti' of this generation.

Why would the 3080 TI be faster than a 3090? Is it not exactly the same but with 20GB VRAM?

That’s one heck of a Mobo! Jealous

Looking at ASUS' delivery cadence; I am under a sneaking suspicion that they're using standard shipping (boats+containers); the deliveries seem to be every 14-15 days on the dot. As such, I expect to see ASUS updates here in 10 days. Sort of wish I'd bought a different card... Because now they've been all marked up even more. Meh. Guess it'll make a nice Christmas present to myself.

Yeah we were wondering if it was every 2 weeks OR because they missed a week why OC got 28 last time as delivery before was only 13.
