Nvidia GP102 Titan coming soon

Anyone who buys a Titan or 4 I say fair play and enjoy. Anyone who buys a 480 or 4 I say fair play and enjoy, anyone who buys a 750 or 4 I say fair play and enjoy. I don't ever see the point of calling people morons and mugs because they spend money on their hobby and quite surprised that comments like that are allowed in an enthusiast forum or any forum in truth.

How people spend their money is entirely up to them, this is something you will have to learn to live with if you can.

You're 100% correct I dont need to learn to live it it doesn't affect me in the slightest it is purely an observation, one that I find very interesting from Nvidia's perspective

Quite simply if they sell it, you will buy it and will do so over and over. Its very clever on their part.

It affected you enough to post your opinion

Welcome to a forum, where opinions are posted

Also it wasnt queried how it "Affected me" as you put it, thats twisting Kaapstad's words in search of causing an argument over GPU's, something I am not interested in. He said I would have to live it, I explained I dont need to

If you were prepared to live with it you would not have felt the need to make a post.:)

Same tactic again then, release a Titan and charge £900 followed by a Ti at £600

Looks like they can easily get away with fooling people with this so will go ahead do it, and why not. You cant blame them if people wont learn

What do people need to learn?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the image and recycled imagine that said "2015", accompanied by a piece of writing of "what we think will happen" that could have been written by any of us? Looks more like a click-bait than anything else to be honest.

Nothing is actually confirming that the new Titan will be coming in March next year. I mean surely if they could (if no problem with yield etc), wouldn't it make more sense for Nvidia launch the new Titan at a high price at around November just before the holiday period, and slowly let the price drop?

Yeah, the article itself is a load of nonsense, they even use a picture with the original Titan with dates from last year.

meh post when there is a Titan Z :P

Well there already is. It's actually a dual GPU card featuring 2x the original Titan and cost something in the ranges of Fury Pro Duo prices, probably more. Nobody probably bought it or even talked about it, which is likely why you haven't heard of it.

Anyhow, onto discussion of the Pascal Titan... I understand that people are free to buy whatever they want... but mass decisions to purchase said item at said price can affect the overall market. Nvidia sees the Titan cards sell well (to impatient folk who want the best performance NOW!), thus they're confident to price-gouge.

The GTX 1080 is not a card that interests me, it's not powerful enough for what I want to do with it. But I won't be buying any Titan cards, I really don't have that sort of money to spend on GPUs and few people do. I will, however, be willing to save up for a 1080ti or Vega GPU, intending to pay no more than £600 for one. But considering Nvidia's pricing this gen... I may keep my 970 and not buy a new GPU at all this generation. I'm not going to pay more for something than I think it's worth. Several hundred quid is pricey enough and we've no clue what the EU thing is going to do to our economy. As if it wasn't terrible enough already...

seems with the release of the last Titan the whole point of it was missed, CHEAP workstation card - wish I had these at uni for Rendering - though i did have twin GTX 295s haha
I hope they release them for the sake of these users and can game on the side and not have to fork out a few £ks worth, specially since the last gen screwed this over with removal of FP64 cores

My plan is to wait till the titan and ti is out, then compare performance and prices then go from there.

As for this debate on what people spend there money on, who cares. I hope people do buy the titan cards, i enjoy reading user reviews and seeing others talk about there hobby, heck its why im here :)

Exactly

Anyone who buys a Titan is frankly a moron. the Ti from the same family is a damn near the same performance and hundreds of pounds cheaper. Just goes to show how many mugs there really are out there.

While i full agree with you i wouldnt go that far and call them morons its their money if they want to spend that much on a GFX card then they can

only thing is it raises the praise of everything for those of us with sense

I guess double precision will still be nerfed though?

The original Titan (and Black) sold like hotcakes because of the ~1.5 TFLOPS FP64.

The only differentiator of the recent Titans has been the extra VRAM, useful only for SLI at high res.

To be fair the people who buy a Titan for release prices are not worried about paying over the odds or losing resale value, they buy it simply because they have the disposable income available.

Saying they are morons is a bit unnecessary.

I thought personal attacks were a suspension on this forum anyway? I've seen people suspended for specifically calling another person a moron.
