NVIDIA GPU Firmware Update Tool for DisplayID
The DisplayID specification provides enhanced display capabilities. To ensure compatibility with monitors using DisplayID, an update to the NVIDIA GPU firmware may be required.

Without the update, systems that are connected to a DisplayPort monitor using DisplayID could experience blank screens on boot until the OS loads. This update should only be applied if blank screens are occurring on boot.

Click here to download the NVIDIA GPU Firmware Update Tool for DisplayID.

The NVIDIA GPU Firmware Update Tool will detect whether the firmware update is needed, and if needed, will give the user the option to update it.

If you are currently experiencing a blank screen, please try one of the following workarounds in order to run the tool:

-Boot using DVI or HDMI
-Boot using a different monitor
-Change boot mode from UEFI to Legacy
-Boot using an alternate graphics source (secondary or integrated graphics card)

Once you have the tool downloaded, please run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure all apps are closed before running the tool and make sure no OS updates are pending in the background.

GeForce RTX 30 Series:
GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, GeForce RTX 3060

Don't have this issue with my 3080ti i suppose it's because I am using a Samsung G7? It's only an issue with older monitors right? Not going to risk bricking my card as it's not needed for me so I would advise anyone who doesn't have the issue to stay away. Reports of some people bricking their cards already.

Mind sticking a link up to where people are bricking their cards with this update. As I see none on reddit thread on the nvidia reddit and none on their forums. Thanks.

That has nothing to do with this update. That was an evga update threw their software. Also this update is only for 3080Ti and 3060 cards.

The thread you posted is the thread I helped him fix the issue on if you read it and it was a 3070.;) So nothing to do with this update from Nvidia.

It's not only for those cards. it can be flashed to any 30 series card.

Right... read it again... the family of cards is RTX 30 series and affected cards are right below 3080 Ti and 3060. That's how the Nvidia knowledgebase states the issues for cards affected.

I read from another site it was for all 30 series cards but those 2 were the ones people had issues with. Suppose they could have gotten it wrong.

Yes and it will not flash cards not supported or cards not affected by the issue "3080Ti or 3060 that have had a bios update from the AIBs". It will state card doesn't need the update or not supported so no chance of flashing it on unsupported cards.
