Hey guys, ive been having an ongoing problem with my PC crashing for around 7 months. Its been hard to replicate it and it can disappear for long periods at a time but its come back again recently.

Before it came about again recently I didn't know what was causing it and figured it was the new GTX 970 that I put in as I didn't have the problem beforehand. It seems now however that the problem is the driver crashing. It stalls the whole pc, displays a message of 'no signal detected' on my monitor and then sits there as if fully crashed. It does however respond again after a good minute or so.

My partner was playing the sims 4 earlier and it happened continuously through there. She basically managed about 10 mins of gameplay before it started crashing and it would crash again almost immediately after the pc responded and the driver booted up again.

I closed most of my stuff and as of posting this I have origin, corsair gaming headset, xonar d2x audio centre, razer synapse, logitech g-series key profiler, logitech LCD manager, NVIDIA geforce experience, PSI secunia, CCleaner and MS Security Essentials running on the taskbar. The windows installation (Windows 7 64bit) is fairly fresh and there hasn't been anything downloaded other than those mentioned programs, steam and uplay and whatever games in their respective libraries.

What could be causing this fail and how can I go about fixing it? Trying to use the action centre results in a message stating that I can't access it at the time and to try again later, this has been the case for a few days so its unlikley to be a MS problem.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I think there is already a thread in the GPU or PC Games section.

What drivers are you using?

Ah apologies I used the search function but couldn't find anything, ill check them out.

Im using the latest graphics drivers for both experience and the card, both on beta. Ill try rolling back to the non-beta but ive had the problem regardless of beta or not for months.

Interestingly after rolling back my driver to a previous one I had a good few days of stable use. Then it happened again today during a game.

Whats more curious is that whilst I was able to ctrl+alt+delete to close the program via task manager (it hadn't stopped working, only the driver had) I then proceeded to test if my sound was still functional as typically it cuts the sound too.

That worked for about 44 seconds of a song and then it stopped. I closed the program and tried to re-open it and then my PC came up with a message saying there wasn't enough memory available to open the program.

Dodgy/breaking RAM stick?
