NVIDIA GTX 1070 Windows 10 Issue

Just got my 1070 today, also having the same problem, windows is all updated but it still says it's incompatible with this version. In device manager it just lists it as Video Controller (VGA Compatible), no warning triangle or anything. The installer doesn't have the hardware error, only the version of windows error.

I have tried downloading the 32 bit, and the win8/7/vista 64bit drivers and none of them work.

I've also tried using GFE, but get the same error there too.

Any ideas?

are you sure its fully updated as there was a massive update to a newer build that had to be forced on my son's laptop to update.

Type Winver in a command prompt or via run. You should be on 1511 OS Build 10586.318 at least.

Seems I'm on an older build, perhaps because I'm on enterprise? Really hope I don't have to reinstall using Pro :/

That's the RTM build, you've not had any of the big updates at all according to that.

Updates aren't pushed to Enterprise from Windows Update. You have to download the new ISO and do an in-place upgrade or install a version designed for consumers. Unless you want to build a WSUS server at home.

Yep you should be on 1511 what you have is ancient.

I don't understand, I'm upgrading from a GTX 670, the drivers for that always updated without ANY problems, using GFE. I may try putting that back in and see if I get the same message for the 600 series driver.

Yeah dunno mine was the same on pro now but it worked

Yeah, just "upgraded" to pro, my enterprise was in English US so it hasn't kept my apps/settings annoyingly, just files, so it's basically a clean install with my user folders intact. But, NVidia drivers installed fine!

Also, if anyone needs to get a Win 10 Pro key, I just used computerbuilders.co.uk, with PayPal, so completely safe, and got Win10 Pro for £19.65!
