** NVIDIA GTX 1070Ti NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER FROM £419.99 **

personally i dont see this as for gamers, i see it squarely targeted at miners, the 1080 can be had sub £500, makes it too close to the Ti. i think nvidia knew what they were doing imo, they want a bigger piece of the mining pie

/if I have £430 to buy a new card (no more than this so don't say 1080). Should I get a 1070, either the Asus Strix OC Gaming or EVGA FTW Gaming ACX (currently £420 from £470), or a 1070 ti (the Asus one at £420 which is the cheapest). The 1070 Strix looks more appealing to me but unsure.

Or save more cash and get a Asus Dual OC 1070 for £380 and have cash spare for something else?

I can't imagine the performance will be much between a 1070 and 1070 ti will it?

If you have £430, just find £20 somewhere and buy a 1080. It comes with Destiny 2 for free as well, which you can either keep or sell for £30 anyway.

Lowest price 1080 I can see now is £480. That's far too much for me.
I can find 2 Palit cards for £444 and £428. If you sell Destiny 2 that's less than your original £430 budget. But I see what you mean, it is still over budget for any 'good' 1080s. Will wait for 1070ti performance benchmarks on Nov 2nd I guess.

Yeah, I think I will wait for benchmarks and make a decision.

Guys look at it from this pov, they are launching a card priced between the 1070/1080 that (based on specs confirmed by Nvidia) noticeably out mines both. That should reduce mining demand (and thus the price) for both those cards plus some AMD ones. Good news all round.

the thing that bugs me about this, is that there's a pretty big gap in both price and performance between the 1060 6gb and the 1070... A nice £300-£350 graphics card with 1070 -5% performance would have slotted into the line up nicely

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with the 1070ti but seeing the price and performance I’m really questioning this atm. I’d of though the 1070 would drop in price with the ti taking a middle ground between that and a 1080

I can't say that I'm in the market for a 1070Ti as it's way above my budget. However, I sincerely hope this brings down the price of the 1070 in time for my build.
