hi, iv been having a few issues with my graphics card lately. when using photoshop & Maya 2011 some times randomly the screen goes black then a message comes up saying my graphics card has recoverd from a error, but this causes my programs to instantly close, loosing all progress with a message coming up saying to go to http://www.nvidia.com/page/support.html error code 8.

But when playing games, if & when the graphics card crashes, the game does not crash! and i can continue to play... all the time!

i mainly use my pc for 3d (maya), but with it crashing every so often unexpectedlly, its really setting me back with my collage work.

My warrenty ran out with overclockers a few months ago, & im not sure if my card is coverd by nvidia's warrenty, anyone any ideas?
 
What's the temp you're getting these days?

Any driver updates for other Windows components recently? Have you tried a full reinstall with newest drivers?
 
No luck with updating GFX drives either, i should have said before...

iv wiped the pc & reinstalled, & iv still continued to have crashes aswell. iv had gfx crashes with nothing on the pc but the pc drivers

other issues im having aswell is when my pc goes into hibernation/standby mode, it either, comes back on and neither of my monitors come back on resulting in a pc restart, starts back up runs for a few minuite, then the gfx card crashes starting off by the black flcikers then followed by a full on freeze, resulting in pc restart or on the odd occasion, will come out of stand by mode with no issues( this is rare!!!)

or sometimes, the gfx will crash when the pc is idle & nothing is being used

sometimes when booting after a hibernation/standby freeze it gets to the windows logo then frezes (restart), gets to the password screen after siting with a black screen for up to 10minuites , when i go into my bios settings, sometimes it says the volatge has changed this could casue crashes, so i load my overclockers profile (f12) and then it starts ups normally.

when photoshop crashes dude to gfx card crash, i have to restart the pc to get photoshop to open again, its only really been happening the last 2 months, im just completly confused as to how i can play games at top whack graphics & theres never any issues but when running a simple program or leaving the computer idle i have so many issues
