Hi there

We have two cards based on the new "448 Edition" GTX 560Ti from NVIDIA. These offer the same 320-Bit memory interface and extra memory just like a GTX 570 but at a much reduced price. As both our versions come overclocked out of the box performance is very very close to a GTX 570 but at a considerably saving. We have the MSI in stock right now and the Zotac cards are due to arrive tomorrow:-

gtx560 £240
gtx570 £240

saving= nothing

any negative comments I make on this thread are not directed at OCUK but Nvidia.

Just can't see the point

This should be £150 to fly off the shelves in order to dent 7800 sales

plus, 1280MB indeed

That 570 is on special offer and is an extremely good buy, the price goes up £20 tomorrow, so if you want a cheap GTX 570 grab that one quick. ;)

Nvidia are just cashing in on surplus and branding failed GTX570 cores as Limited Edition.

From a business standpoint, it's understandable, as a consumer, it's just plain frustrating. :D

Either way, people should be futureproofing with 2GB+ or more VRAM now or holding out till the new AMD stuff.

I don't think Nvidia will release Keplar till mid 2012.

IF I was in the market for a 570 (and lets be fair, you'd have to have your head examined to be buying a 570 now) I'd rather spend the extra £20 as these new 560ti 448s seems to be just a damaged 570 with £20 knocked off.

Basically Nvidia are charging todays prices for todays performance. We are on the virge of tomorrows performance for todays prices.

The 560ti 448 should be todays performance for tomorrows prices to get the undercut on AMD

I for one will be waiting for the 7870 which will beat these cards on performance and be a lot cheaper, plus will come with 2Gb vram as standard, which will help when it comes to Xfire.

why do you suggest that? 570's are excellent cards

don't get me wrong, they are fantastic cards but aren't you curious as to how good the 7800 series will be next week? I can understand buying a 570, but not when we are this close to the new AMD line up.

They will (most probably, although not confirmed) be:

Faster (8% on a 6970?)
Cheaper :D
Cooler
Quieter

I think that applies not only to the GTX570...in fact, people shouldn't buy ANY card (including 6950/6970) that are still on the dated 40nm process with the next gen cards around the corner. Nobody should be "upgrading" their graphic card right now...the only people should be buying a new graphic card right now are those that need a new rig built asap and absolutely cannot wait for next gen card.

To be honest, if I was someone who got a new PC but no graphic card, I'd just pick up something like a 2nd hand 8800GT/9800GT 512MB for £20~£25, or a 2nd hand 5850 for £80~£90 as a temporary solution until the release of the new cards, rather than spending £200+ on cards that will hit EOL soon.

Do AMD cards still have problems with stuttering in BF3?

personally i am really gagging to buy a card to play skyrim/batman etc at near enough max settings, i dont like lowering stuff down at all it annoys me and i like 60fps min always. i have a 460, so a 560 ti is too small a upgrade to be worth it.

right now i am holding out playing games until i upgrade. What is really annoying is seeing the price of 570's rise slightly, surely as amd are ready to release brand new cards, nvidia would counter this by selling as many as possible now to reduce the number of people lookign to upgrade.

You always have special deals on, wont be long before a different 570 is £230.

You've heard the 7870 will be 8% faster than a 6970? I had assumed the 7870 would be at least as fast as the 6970 just because of the similarity in terms of specifications, but I know that the specs don't tell the full story, so I could definitely see an 8% increase. Couple that with a massive price drop and much less power draw/heat and it's a no-brainer.

I am so disappointed with the prices of these. Wish I had bought the MSI 2GB 560Ti for £200 now.

I was all ready to order one of the 448 cards for £200, maybe £220, but just not worth £240. I think some work needs to be done with prices.

I'll take an MSI one for £220. Go on, you know you can do it :p
