Over the past five years, Nvidia has been making a big push into automotive technology, hoping to power not only the graphic information displays and entertainment systems that have become increasingly popular in cars, but also to get in on the ground floor of the self-driving systems of the future.
Currently, the chipmaker has partnerships with 14 car makers, from Volkswagen Group subsidiaries like Audi and Porsche, to BMW and Mini, to Peugeot and Tesla.
