NVIDIA Lawsuit...

it makes every difference if the cards are labelled vista ready with all lack of support and stability issues, its an outrage that they'v even put the stamp on the cards.

Yes maybe they wanted people to test the drivers and give feedback, but it shouldnt be the people paying premium prices for top of the range hardware. They shouldnt be paying those prices to be beta-testers, they should be payed if anything.

mabye they were expecting (positive) user feedback on the drivers

That's what beta testers are for, if I'm paying £££ for a product I don't expect to be their tester as well!

Now I'm no GFX card zelot but the state of the drivers for Vista would really make me think twice before buying Nvidia again, well done Nvidia you've managed to **** off somebody that has been buying you products for about 8 years!

The glitch when the UAC kicks in is truely revolting!

Once Nvidia has the drivers are sorted will the 8800's perform better with Vista?

I mean if vista is built with the latest tech in mind i.e. 64bit cpu's, multiple cores, dx10 cards ect surely it will utilise these parts better than xp therefore improving performance?

I have currently been wondering if Vista users find the OS better at multitasking/quicker due to natively supporting 64bit/multiple cores?

of course it will perform better. But the drivers need time to mature. XPs have had a hell of a lot longer to mature, hence why its still ontop performance wise. Nvidia are still releasing somewhat crummy beta drivers.

How long will vista need to mature do you think? Six months? Vista looks awesome, I want the "3d world of aero" ASAP but not cost of loosing my current stable OS.

nobody knows, its the next big thing though, so shouldnt take too long.
Not as long as xp64 atleast.

Most are saying half a year to a year. Itll hit XP performance before the drivers have fully matured though, thats if the claims of it offering superior performance etc for everything are true :) which to be honest, will be :)

Assuming that was directed at me I think you completley missed the point of my post and where it was coming from.

ohh, ahhh.
Yea guess it doesnt actually make a difference to generally people so they cant moan. Origionally took it as you saying who cares about dx10, its only flight sim users. Nevermind :D

you make it sound like x64 has matured?

i said its not going to take as long as xp64 - could be interpritted as me suggesting xp64 had matured, but i dont beleive it has, cant see it ever properly maturing now.
