you look at the statements ati makes enough profit that pulls amd out of the red as well lol. they sold 6 million dx11 gpus in 6 months and jacked up the prices as well how many do you expect tsmc to make? all the tsmc crap is bs that some ati fanboys make up to justify the mark up in prices. i'll say it again 6 million dx 11 gpus in 6 months.

I Actually fancy two gtx 480s just wait for them to comedown in price currently moving and i just spent like £700 on cpu mobo ram so atm i gota wait abit till i can get them.

they do deserve it, but think how we would suffer need alone everything else, I hate Nvidia for thier actions, but not thier products. Nvidia are very ambitious but in this case rubbish.
But think about it without Nvidia or AMD to that matter the surviving company can do what they want.

GTX 480 = Overpriced, needless power drawing and well, 10-15% boost in performance over the 5870 is not a pro over the cons.

So unless you have a real use for CUDA I would always stress this, stay away from first gen nvidia series there always fail.

If we were talking 40-50% boost less power and cooler than the 5870, my 5870 will be on the MM and I would snatch one up asap 6 months late in production it really should have been.

Instead theirs a negligible boost to justify the price difference, it is so hot its a joke and the amount of power it uses is a joke for a so called next gen card.

Nvidia is now playing catch up to ATI and deserve to be for producing this.
