Our pricing on 670/680 was already very aggressive due to new incoming GTX 770, but this additional support from NVIDIA means GTX 670 and GTX 680 are now really great buys. Remember if your already a 670 or 680 owner, now is perfect time for an SLI upgrade as 670/680 won't be around for much longer, what we have left is it and as such once its gone, it is gone!

Too right about time, they've uncompetitive virtually since 680/670 launch! :D

Yep!

Check competitors, you will see this is quite a big move as our pricing is upto £50 less on 680 than competitors and £30ish on 670. Of course I am sure they will eventually catch up. ;)

it is about time. and they have seemed uncompetitive but they somehow still sell more than amd. steam's hardware survey puts the gtx 670 at twice the user base of the hd 7950. this may be troublesome for amd, despite the fact that 7950 should still be better value with better coolers and free games for the same price as the new 670 price. gg nvidia.

So I'm guessing the "GTX670 GHz Edition" (GTX760Ti) and "GTX680 GHz Edition" (GTX770) will be coming in at around £20-£40 above these prices then?

Of course I hope to be wrong and that the GTX770 would be lower than this GTX680 price like how GTX570 (£260-£280) was lower in price by a fair margin comparing to the final price of GTX480 (around £360) before EOL...but seem unlikely (considering they have prety much confirmed to be no lower than the £300-£400 price bracket). With the GTX760Ti and GTX770 on the way, you'd thought that the GTX670 and GTX680 price will drop to little bit below 7950 and 7970's level to undercut them...but I guess with Nvidia being Nvidia, they don't need such a move, as people will buy regardless.

They don't because they have simply EOL the product, no longer made and they price it to match performance levels, not to undercut AMD, NVIDIA feel they never need to be the cheaper price.

Well, I guess AMD is equally to blame for stretching out the product life cycle not brought anything new out end of last year/beginning of this year, and given Nvidia the perfect opportunities to milk the GK104 for all its worth.

Although Nvidia has a record of rebadging old gen cards as news gen in the pass, I think this gen is the first time ever they do a cosmetic/paint-job rebadge for at least three cards straight from previous gen?

How so? AMD have been gaining marketshare.

they've still had to try harder lol. the 7000 series gpus have a larger die size, more ram, higher bus width (i.e. they're a lot more expensive to make), and amd still had to bundle expensive free games and sell at much lower prices than nvidia to gain that marketshare. and growth or not nvidia still sold more cards, so that's where my sentiment comes from.

Yea it's a tough fight...it's like the iphone they are lower in spec, parts costs and performance, but with their shiny brand name, they will still sell far more than the competitor which offer superior products at comparable/lower prices...

Quite frankly...I don't know if AMD would ever manage to shift enough users away from Nvidia...
