so.... my current rig is:

Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz
8800 Ultra
Xfx 790i Ultra
OCZ 4 x 1GB DDR3 2000MHz
2 x 1tb Samsung Spinpoints - Raid 0
2 x 36gb Raptors - Raid 0
1 x Western Digital 300gb Storage.
Silverstone Temjin TJ10B-Windowed
OcUK DGM 24" Monitor

But after seeing the Leadtek 9800 GX2 for £225 it seems to good to be true???

Or is it not worth it and is it a dire card?

Or.... is Nvidia bringing out a new fantastic card and getting off these cards cheap or what?

Should i buy one? I need something to play the new games at 1920 x 1200 as AOC & other new games struggle at this res on my 8800Ultra

you could always send your kit my way in exchange for a console... ;)

i wouldnt reccomend forking out for an X2 over a gtx
the performance gains are noticable but not worth £200+
you might be better off getting a second hand gtx and trying sli?

edit - didnt realise they were ultras - my suggestion applies still

Any upgrade from an 8800Ultra would be pretty pointless tbh. There maybe faster cards now available but you wouldn't really notice any major difference.

Not always just about the speed though, it's about the best time to sell. The boat has now sailed on GTX/Ultra prices so there's not much point selling but I sold my Ultra a month ago for £200 and am now surviving with a stop-gap 7600GT until I decide which way to jump. In retrospect this was a brilliant move and I'm so glad I did as they're now worth a fraction of that.
