Right, time for me to ask the questions...

Just added a pair of new 7200.10s to the PC as a RAID0 array and the performance isn't what it should be:

  • NForce drivers v6.86 (latest) are installed
  • Mobo BIOS is at latest level
  • All drivers installed in windows
  • Drives have had SATA1 jumpers removed and are running SATA2 mode according to the drivers.
  • Both drives give normal HDTach traces when run in single drive mode

Drive1
Drive2

For the life of me I can't see anything wrong or anything else I can change. Anyone got any ideas?

They should support it and it is turned on so I'll turn it off and give it another whirl.

EDIT: No joy I'm afraid, still getting the same results.

OK, I've tried disabling all the caching and the NCQ and things are looking a bit better:

The average read is OK, I was hoping for 125Mb/s or so but what I have is consistent across most of the array which is something.
