Nvidia released Reflection, Atomic Heart & Justice RTX Tech demos

SW Reflections has been heavily downgraded.

the top one is likely suffering from youtube compression. TBH, i can'tt really see an obvious difference between the two that coudln't be explained by slightly different frame or video/image compression. The bottom one perhaps has some marginally better specular highlights but the slightest change in angle would liekly explain the difference.

The most obvious difference is the venting aorund the cheeks on the bottom image is much cleaer than the top. But that has nothing to do with RTX/reflections. Liekly simply video compression on you tube.

To clarify, the compressed YT is of better quality than the RTX demo.

When I ran it I thought the image quality was poor, it was grainy but why that was I don't know.

This, it's as if they've added grain to cover up the lower quality

It will run a star wars reflection rtx tech demo and can run some crappy reflections in bf v:D

Justice RTX toggle shows just how good reflections can be done, it's the most impressive of the 3 demos imo.

Well the screen shot looks much better than the YT video, just look at the extra detail on the vents near the cheeks.

Couldn't get Justice to run, the run button is always greyed out

Ran atomic hearts 1440p DLSS off, average about 65fps

Then ran the Star Wars demo at 1440p - pointless demo because its frame-capped to 48fps, the 2080ti is under 60% load rock solid 48fps, without the cap it would run 70fps+
The star wars demo is also very grainy compared to what we shown previously, might be because its running with DLSS ON, not sure if it can be turned off

To be honest, these are pretty lame - just use 3d mark port royal instead thats a actual good benchmark that works

It's grainy because that's the best the denoiser can do atm with current hardware. You're not going to have a true DXR image without some noise in real time for a few more years. Even though they gimped it to all hell let's not forget even then reflections in BF V showed noise.

This is all completely false, as always form you.

The grain is uniform across the whole frame because it is an added post-processing effect. If this was noise form undersampled GI then only the shadows would show noise while the brighter areas such as on top of the helmet woudln't.

And reflections are immune to noise due to the way ray-tracing works. All that happens if you reduce the number of rays cast for reflections is you get a lower resolution reflection with less detail, but there is no noise.

It's cute that you have a crush on me, but that's no reason to deny the truth.

Seems like how ray-tracing works is different than how you think it works because you can evidently see noise. And I'm not even pointing to the more egregious instance when we involve water.

Lastly your explanation for noise not present on top of helmet would make sense, but again, we clearly see that reality is different and instead the whole picture will look grainy if you raytrace heavily and thus the denoiser has to work double time: https://youtu.be/SrF4k6wJ-do?t=827

Not only that, but noise has been (at least subtly) evident even in previous unveilings of the RTX SW demo, and that was before it was released to the public where it has, ofc, been gimped, as all RTX implementations have had to be, because ultimately when we break it down to real time, the tech is still far away from proper usability while maintaining the higher standards it boasts. And in fact if you play around with DXR on your own in the various engines that support it, the noise is most evident when you can freely move around and make fast movements/jumps. The only reason it's not so obvious to the less keen eyed in these demos and presentations it's because everything is slow-paced & the camera slowly pans. Not unlike how low framerates aren't so bad with a gamepad but horrendous when you have M&KB.

I had same problem, tried run as administrator other solutions for nearly 2 days without success until I rumbled on Nvidia reddit a few mins ago and found:

The launcher doesn't seem to recognize display scaling. If you're on a 4K or possibly 1440p display, you should right click on the .exe file > properties > compatibility > change dpi settings > set override to "application".

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/com...g_april_update_megathread_dxr_on_gtx/eknptfa/

I tried above solution and it finally worked. :D Wow Justice looked really incredible stunning and very impressive tech demo.
