Hi, I'm thinking of upgrading my current graphics card (Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB mini GDDR5) to a new RTX 3080. My pc is only 2 yrs old so I figure it should be fine but I'd like some advice on whether it'd be ok & if so, which version I should buy (like, should I go with the Gigabyte or does that matter?)? My current specs are:-
AMD Ryzen 5 2600.
Gigabyte X370-Gaming 3 board.
16GB DDR4 RAM (2x8),
Cougar 750w 80 Plus Bronze power supply
It's all housed in a Kolink MIDI case so there should be sufficient room but any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

more important questions here are what is your current monitor (resolution and max refresh rate) and are you struggling in any games?

Sorry, refresh rate is 120Hz & no, so far all games work just fine. I was only thinking of upgrading so it can play Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out in a few weeks time & the new generation of games without issues

Just seen Igor's report & if true then yeah, definitely better off waiting. Once these issues get fixed though, do you think my system would be able to upgrade & more importantly, would it be worth the cost (yeah, I get this is subjective but I'd still appreciate any advice). Thx

The fault aside you would have no choice but wait anyway, there is no stock and big queues :)

I do think if the card issues are resolved it would be worth it as you are on a TV as the 3080 and 3090 are aimed at higher resolutions.
