NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Had my 5070tindelivered yesterday and in iracing it's a massive upgrade from the standard 4070 I had. I can now get locked 120fps at most tracks with really high settings.

I even get 90+, in the rain at spa

Nvidia hotfix driver to fix crashing and black screens on RTX5000 GPUs has actually made the situation worse and now users report all games crash when multi frame generation is enabled

Ironically I've had this black screen crashing issue on my 4090 for the last year, it's infrequent for me though and only sometimes occurs when switching which screen is my main display, but still it highlights that Nvidia has chronic driver stability issues
The drivers went downhill when they pulled half the geforce driver team over to AI.

A 5060 ti is shaping up to be a dead duck already given the product stack not to mention super expensive. That's not to say it wouldn't be an upgrade over what you have now but there are plenty of options that fit your budget. Once the 5 series becomes more available (although a while off) the prices of the 4 series should drop so say something like beween 4070, 4070ti a 4080 if they come up cheap. Of course if the 9070 or 9070xt can meet it price point and isn't heavily scalped by retailers or private individuals I can't see why that would be bad for you in any shape or form. If you have to have Nvidia then wait for a cheap 4070. You get most of the feature set of the 5 series but without the fires or missing rops :P

Yeah, 5060ti is not looking good. I was hoping for 4070 performance at 4060ti (£380ish) price, but Nvidia going to Nvidia I guess.

No preference on AMD or Nvidia. At this point, 9070 does seem like my best bet, so I'll just wait see how everything shakes out. I have 0 doubt that the retailers are going to scalp again and make up some excuse, but I'm in no rush, plenty to play in the meantime and can make sure AMD haven't joined nvidia in making cards that set on fire :p

Could someone try Furmark please. In the regular burn in test I score around constant 260fps 4k with a 5090.
When I switch to 4k benchmark I score 260fps until it hits 45% of the benchmark, then it drops to GPU usage 75% and my fps runs at 202fps. The score is around the same as I get with my 4090.

Also setting the display up for 4k, 10bit or 12bit colour makes it tint yellow? Going back to 8bit makes it white again.

I was going to suggest hotspot throttling, but after watching the video and seeing GPU temp stay under 60c, it would require a ridiculous delta for the hotspot to be the cause of this.

Seeing as there’s not many pics of it and as there’s no “show your 5080” thread :p here’s a pic or 2 of the Inspire card for those interested. Have to say very happy with it so far from what I’ve tested, runs cool and dead quiet and full rops :D

No rgb at all (not that there’s not enough in the case) so quite an unassuming card, tempted to vertical mount it to show the colour off a bit more.

yeah, i have a 3060ti and thought it might be an upgrade, but that doesn't look very likely.

I'll likely wait until the 4070 super comes down in price.
I don't see me upgrading this year.

What a launch this has been missing rops and black screens can it get any better..arr you guys bot gonna RMA the cards I would..

Yes for sure there are a lot of issues with the 5xxx series launch. I didn't think it would be possible it to be as the bad the 2xxx series launch but this launch is more than likely the worst ever irrespective if it was Nvidia or AMD. But it will still keep Nvidia on top sad to say.
