Nvidia shader cache keeps duplicating shaders for the same games

Hi,
Nvidia shaders seem to be duplicating shaders every time I play a game. For instance I play a game and then look in my shader folder and there is a shader file with something like 262mb. The file corroaponds to the game I just played due to the data and time it was created. I then go back into the game and back out and I see another file exactly the same with the new time stamp on it. So basically each time I playa game it just creates a new cache. Surely this is not right. I assume it's supposed to use the cache it created in the fist instance. At this rate after a week of playing the game it will easily hit the 10gb limit. I am new to the shader cache options as I have never really used it in the passed.

Thanks.

Does you folder include multiple cache files of the same game? Mine is set to 10gb at the mo and will fill up in no time.

Hi,

I know about the cap but the question is should I have multiple cache of the same game. I thought it does it once and then uses ghat cache the next time you play the game.

This is what mine looks like for today. I've been playing one game all morning, Onimusha Way of the Sword. I haven't closed it and reopened it at any point

Blimey, that's a lot. Didnt realise it caches that many files for the same game. I assume it would not repeat those files if you come out of the game and went back in? My issue it it keeps doing the same each time I play the same game.

I've just closed the game and gone back into it and no new files have been created.

I'm not sure how exactly it works, it's the first time I've even looked at the folder to be honest. If you've set a limit of 10GB I would imagine it starts overwriting old shaders to replace with new ones when it hits that limit but I'm by no means an expert on the subject.

I just manually delete the contents of this folder every month, and start again, just in case i leave shader files in it, that are no longer needed, average 30 GB+ a month.
