Nvidia shadowplay

Just updated and had a look. 1080P @ 60FPS the only option at the moment? Was hoping for 720P @ 30FPS.

Welcome to the future, where grainy low quality video does not exist :P

And hopefully everyone has superfast broadband.

Bleh, we are not there yet are we.

Now that is interesting :)

I read that performance hits would be around 2% and thought "No chance" (after seeing how fraps killed fps) pressed record and nothing dropped.... I had to stop and start again to make sure I was recording :D

I can see people who know what they are doing with videos being very interested in this. It seems like a great tool.

No we aren't :).

And 720P @ 30FPS gives good enough quality I think. At much much smaller file sizes.

I'm guessing 720P will be added one they integrate Twitch streaming. I think Twitch recommends a bitrate of 3500kb/s, for 1080P that would probably look pants.

tested, works amazingly. no noticeable decrease in performance, and the videos are really high quality (2 min 1080p= 750mb)

Set Mode to Manual for infinite recording, or your SSD/HDD fills up.

I've tried using it with Arma 3, and it didn't work. I blame Arma 3, you know what that game is like. Gunna try another game.

LOL same.
I hit rec and didn't see the fps drop at all so kept hitting start & stop just to make sure it was defo on :D

I like the way it puts the recordings into individual game folders as well in the main designated directory.

So it seems setting it to Manual doesn't make the record time unlimited. Tested with a different game though and it's really cool, didn't notice a frame drop at all.

Must say this is just adding to my confusion as I am torn between.

Nvida and AMD on features.

Shadow Play could be big for me.

But mantle and Frostbite engine two or three of my must buy games are in frostbite 3.

Why Why !

I wouldn't call mantle a feature.
It's just extra performance.
Extra FPS isn't a feature in my book. Plus no one knows how much extra performance it'll give.

True but if it help min frame rates and lets me bump up the features all the good.

I'll just sit tight for the next month to much going on to really know what to do atm.

Might have to buy a new monitor or something to tide over my upgrade urge.

Hmm. Ok just installed the latest drivers with Geforce Ex 1.7 and it wouldn't open. So went to restart and had BSOD. (Windows 8.1)

Nvdriver to blame. Good times lol :D

Yeah, used Driver Fusion as well prior as have just taken out the 290X lol. It seems to be working fine now on the desktop front. Just going to give it a whirl.

Ok, can someone try Tomb Raider. The video does display as 60FPS according to fraps but the video appears as if the game is playing at 30FPS. (Same affect for both 1080 and 1440P)

Actual performance in game appears unaffected though, which is always a good start. : )
