so, nvidia showed off its surround gaming on 3 1080p monitors all in 3d @ CeBit. fair enough. Anyone know if it works in not 3d mode, I would assume that it would?

Obviously need 2 cards?

it will work in 3d and 2d mode.

I read that 1 480gtx can handle full 3d surround with 3 120hz 1080p monitors. But time will tell. If i wanted full 3d surround i would have 2 monitors for optimum performance and room temp in the north pole.

I doubt it will require 2x Cards as the new cards have 2 x DVI port and a mini HDMI so theres no reason to believe it won't function similar to Eyefinity.

nVidia have already confirmed that surround vision, 3d or not will require sli to drive it.
ATi pulled a fast one on nVidia with Eyefinity. They kept it absolutely secret until the last minute, meaning that nVidia had already designed the chip before they learnt of it. Presumably the mini-displayport is linked to the same output as one of the DVIs in the same way as ATi's boards.

Therefor nVidias multi-monitor feature requires SLI and must be implemented in software. It's a bit of a joke really, because if they can implement in software now then they could have done it several years ago (ATi too).
