Nvidia is ready for its next-generation GPU launch. According to sources at graphics card makers, the company plans to launch its GeForce 9 series GPU after the Lunar New Year in February.

The first chip to rollout of in GeForce 9 family will be the D9E, a high-end product that adopts 65nm manufacturing. The new product will also support DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1, revealed the sources.

In addition to the D9E, Nvidia will roll out a mid-range GeForce 9 family product named D9P in June 2008. The new GPU will adopt 55nm processing, the sources pointed out

Think im probably gunna wait for the D9P, assuming thats going to the 8800GT kind of equivalents and the D9E being a GTX equivalent. we could do with some more details though, but the people who want a GTX killer will only have to wait until February now.

yeah, these 65nm card still use quite a bit of power, ati's 55nm use a fair bit less, dx10.1 and shader 4.1 and obviously faster clocks, i will definately buy 1 of those.

not sure if the new High End card is just an 8800 GTX rev 2.0 using same tech but bigger bus than 256bit and faster speeds and more ram or whether this will actually be a completely different card and a true 9 series card, but its going to be using 65nm like the GT, so looks like its an 88xx card rev2. guess we shall have to wait to see, but im definately waiting till june now which may be brought forward and gpu and cpu companies have been doing that quite a lot over the last 6months.
