Nvidia "unlaunch" 4060ti 12GB erm 4080 12GB....

I think the most likely scenario is Nvidia were spooked by AMD and the fact that at least one of the upcoming GPUS will beat the 12 gb 4080 so they had to drop it just for that reason alone

AMD will easily smash the 4070ti/4080 16GB. no way is that is an 80 class GPU. Amazed nobody has called that one out more at $1200.

I doubt it. They have the “Supers” and “TI’s” for that.

They also need to reprice the 4080 16gb.

The 4090 is barely more expensive and 2x the power almost.

Who in their right mind would choose the 4080?

This gen is really weird. 4090 aside everything else makes no sense.

Yes.

I am normally in the market for a xx80 but I am very dubious this generation. I don't want to buy a 4090, yet the 4080 is just poor value for money.

It seems to me they have deliberately engineered all of this because of the stock problem they have with the 30 series ( too many of them they need to sell ).

But taken in isolation, the 40 series just doesn't make any sense at all.

I am still waiting to see what the performance of the 4080 is, but I very much suspect that I will not be buying one. They really need to drop the price of the 4080 to the same as the 4070 they just unlaunched.

Its half a 4090, less than half the cores, half the memory bandwidth and the same clock speed.

The 4090 is 72% faster than the 3080, again, the 4090 has 103% more cores than the 4080 12GB.

To put that in perspective the 3090 has 115% more cores than the 3060Ti, 78% more cores than the 3070 and 20% more cores than the 3080.

Its a 4060Ti, that's what you will be buying.

I wouldn't buy the 12gb anyway, it's clearly not enough of an improvement over the card I have. I would have been interested in the 4080 16GB, but I think that is likely to not offer enough performance for the cost. It is way over-priced.

Unusually, 4090 does seem the best of the three but alas I am reluctant to spend £2000+ on a GPU.

Have 3080fe literally only option is 4080 16gb which is way over priced when I paid £650 for 3080 and 4090 I don't need and that's beyond I'd pay for a gpu

If AMD has something with value I might be interested if not I'll skip this gen
