But the cores used for RTX can't be used for anything else. A bit crap really.
The RT cores are pretty specific to ray/triangle operations but the Tensor cores accelerate matrix multiplication. These can be used for anything which uses arithmetic reduction techniques. A couple of examples are gravitational modelling and Brownian particle motion. So it is conceivable that a physics engine could implement some optimisation for certain calculations.
