hey guys i have been doing some testing with the last 4 current drivers
latest being beta 331.93 on windows 8.1 and windows 7 64bits
all games run without a hitch on windows 7 with 331.83 whql
most games on windows 8.1 run fine they show good fps but i have noticed hitching
in titles such as batman arkham origins, ac4, tomb raider, dust and hitman absolution.
its game breaking for me, game would be fine then get a quick pause ad then hitch back. <---- hopefully that makes sense lol

so for me windows 7 64bits is a better os at the moment as the hitching is not here. has anyone found experience with this?
my rig is as follows

Cpu: 4930k [email protected] (Custom Water)
MB: Asus rampage IV extreme (4702 bios)
Memory: Mushkin Redline Enhanced 16gb quad chan 2133mhz
Gpu's: Asus Gtx 780 ti x2 sli (Stock)
HD/SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 128gb SSD,
Intel 520 120gb SSD,
Western Digital black 1tb
PSU: 1000w Superflower Platinum

EDIT

i have tried this on my brothers haswell system he has 1 Evga Gtx 780ti Classified and he gets the same performance issues with windows 8.1.

As an experiment, might be worth trying copu at stock under win 8.1 and see if that improves it. If it does, it could be that the overclokc needs to be applied under win 8...

Just an idea.

Just when I think I will upgrade/downgrade to 8.1 from W7, I read these kind of things. Sorry OP, it doesn't help you but it helps me.

Its the CPU Hitching in Win 8.1, its does not happen with all apps, but for example while using Skype i can see 1 core Spiking in CPU Monitor, and its always the same core at 5 sec intervals.

It also does it in some games like BF4, using the BF4 performance overlay it shows the same CPU spike i see when using Skype, in BF4 it results in a very tiny one frame stutter, you wouldn't actually notice it if you didn't look for it.

Win 8/.1 is a mess in many different ways, but BF4 does run better on it, even with the CPU Hitching. which is so small its not a problem, or even noticeable, really.

The problem is, if you do notice it, you WILL end up looking for it. We are a fickle bunch us enthusiasts :D

Very true, i looked for it because it was Hitching is Skype ecte... looking hard enough i can see the 1 Frame hangup in BF4.

Thanks for the feedback guys,
I have tried unparking cores I am just preferring Windows 7 64bit at the moment
until Microsoft fix the spiking issue ,
it's not hard for me to test as I got both os installed on two different ssds, maybe one day a update will fix it.
Once again thanks for your feedback guys

Ahh it's driving me nuts lol
I can't take it, I'm so fricking sensative to hitching
and framedrops ac4 is a no go for me until it's patched and fixed same for Batman AO,
I guess I'm stuck with win 7 for now then :(
Anyone with any sucsess story's with win 8 /.1?
