Nvidia working on their own Smart Access Memory solution for Ampere and both Intel and AMD CPUs

Yes but 3080 production is definitely ramping up now.

Aside from scalper stock sitting on the jungle site. I can't buy a 3080. The stock situation is still a joke for the 3000 series. That may change, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Discord and telegram will get you a 3080 in a jiffy

Discord has not worked for me thus far. Websites crash. Cards disappear from cart etc etc. I know when the drops happen. There's just 10000 people trying g to get 5 cards when there's a drop.

Same here, though I did manage to add one to cart before snapping out of it and realising it was £70 over MSRP, and I'd rather just wait

haha made me laugh thanks, but seriously no it's an upfront tax cost, 3080Ti £1200 they just bake the cost into the initial purchase ;-)
I wouldn't be surprised.
:D
Although I've not heard much about it in a while now it appears that nvidia/arm deal will not pass regulatory. So, if that turns out to be true it wouldn't surprise me why they are now being "charitable". At least for now. Still have to wait for those 3080 TI prices.

Already available on AMD3xxx Cpus and Vega on linux, Was added in 2013 ironically by AMD, Why has it took this long to be used on gaming GPU's ?

Code:
pete@com1 ~]$ sudo dmesg | grep BAR

Must have pipped them to it, you can bet your ass NVIDIA would have milked it if they had come to market it first for sure!
