It's certainly not top tier.Is crucial p3 any good?
Crucial T500 2TB is cheaper with heatsink for a 2TB drive. Would be my goto right now.Around £125 for 2tb.
KC 3000 has dram cache so not bad.
Also decent tbfw or whatever the write count thing is called
T500 is a steal at that price. The WD Black SN770 is probably the best option for price/performance. The 2TB version is currently available for £104.99. You can also get the Crucial T500 2TB for £116.99 which includes a heatsink.
I bought the 2TB version without the heatsink for £99.99 in December. Think it went up to around £150 at one point.T500 is a steal at that price.

T500 is a Gen 4 drive, its the T700/705 that are Gen 5.Don't need heatsink motherboard has them. Mine stays pretty cool under 30 with the heatsink. Gen 4.
No point going gen 5, I haven't noticed much speed difference between SATA 500GB and gen 4 under normal use.
So some of these drives need heatsinks
I mean is it dangerous without one and how do I know which drive needs a heatsink or not
What motherboard have you got?
If it has cover plates for M.2 drives, that will be enough to cool a gen4 drive.
AMD or Intel?msi mortar - iirc it has cover plates?
