NVME or SATA?

Hi all

I have an MSI Mortar Max with a WD SN550 in the first M.2 slot and I’m thinking of getting another.

The second M.2 slot on this motherboard runs at PCIE 2.0 x 4, which looks like it’ll limit the speed of an NVME driver - is that correct? If so, would this still be quicker than a SATA drive? Given the relatively small difference in cost I’m leaning towards another NVME if it’s a bit quicker.

Still good for 2000MBps, so nearly 4 times quicker than a sata drive
