Currently I have a samsung 860 EVo 500GB as my windows system, which these days get's quite full
I run odd games on it, but most games ie Steam which are 1TB, run off a normal HDD
I was thinking of upgrading to and NVME then using the SSD for games, of which i could upgrade to bigger size or add another later on.
There are so many on the market, and i noticed the difference in prices is just down to the speeds

I was looking at 2TB versions of Samsung 970/980/990 pro
Am I going to notice the difference in the speeds?
My motherboard is a Asus Z170 Pro Gaming so is probably is an older gen 3?
But as I would probably upgrade sometime soon, it will make a difference eventually.

Any suggestions

Nope, Samsung have also updated their older drives with newer controllers and newer flash, so there's less difference between them than benchmarks might suggest.

Yes.

Right now, I'd just get whatever is a good deal, because the deals are changing weekly and they make the prices really jumbled up, where higher tier drives can be cheaper (sometimes much cheaper) than lower tier drives.
