nx8600GTS MSI 512mb

f it... ill wait till i get my inheritance money in november and get the best i can get in sli...

Sounds silly tbh, you dont need SLi, just get 1 damnd 8800GTS or GTX, end of, no need to get a second one...

As people said, sounds like you made your decision, you dont even want to know any other suggestions, you just want SLi and ignore everyone else...

You need to remove that masked image, its just as bad/ worse than posting a competitor name and tbh is a little bit juvenile

Don't quite understand the logic of the post i must admit. Asks for advice, then ignores or slates it all.

Why the need for sli? e-penis? Just get one decent card...

I think he thinks it will look good in his case so thats automatically going to make the cards faster and beat an 8800GTX :p, when in reality 1 8800GTS 320MB second hand for around 130+ quid will beat those 2 cards.

Why. SLI on midrange cards is less performance for your money than just sticking a single high end card in. Its also prone to problems, if a card fails under warrenty, then you have to try and get the exact replacement... If that cards no longer made, you might get a substitute, then your stuck with two incompatible mid range cards and lousy performance.

SLI's also a lot more likely to have driver glitches from game to game.

SLI's performance also vary's greatly from game to game anyway. So while in some games a mid range SLI setup might get close to a single 8800GTX, in other games it will be miles behind.

Two £150 graphics cards, or one 8800GTX (OcUK branded) for £299.61 inc VAT.

IMHO the only time SLI's worth the bother is if your already running 8800GTX (or ultra) and still want even more speed. It's never been about getting high end performance from mid range, and I dont believe SLI offers good cost : performance ratio in any situation.
Agree with this.

Funny how the OP comes to the forum & asks a question, gets the same answer multiple times (to buy the 2900Pro or if getting 2x 8600GTS a single 8800 series card, both much better value, performance) & then tries to convince himself i think, how the 8600GTS cards are the ones to go for, when they clearly are not. SLI is mostly not worth it, if buying 2 cards at the same time, unless its 2 (near) topend cards (ie 8800GTX or 2900XT).

2900pro? whats that radeon??? you off yoru face or somethign mate

oh... and i need it in SLI. i will be buying 2

Please stop speaking your hurting me i cant stop laughing. Your going to get 2 8600s in SLI for 300 quid haha. What a waste of money when a GTX would own them.

Secondly you think the 2900pro is crap when it overclocks to a XT with no work at all which makes it a powerful card and the fact its 180 quid is out ragous and can be found for less.

Stop being a fan boy and if your going to ask for peoples advice then dont go saying we are talking about 8600 when everyone is saying get 2900pro instead and your saying no. What was the point in asking the question anyway?

no get a 2900pro extra £20

My vote... not that it matters anyway lol.

:EDIT: Didn't read second page.

LOL suspended. I never knew having your brother using your account could get you suspended tbh that seems harsh.

When you say sent him a webpage do you mean just a link to a page?:)

He did this all before when he first joined up. Started multiple threads and completely ignored everyones advice. I reckon he works for the purple shirt brigade. :D

ok im starting to get a little confused though i may be worng £150 max and must have sli? sli 8500gts at £300 is just plain insanity.
and as for radeons there isnt a thing wrong with them and hasnt been for about the last 6 years of there releases the 9800xt, x800gto2, x1950xtx , 2900pro and xt cards all great cards when they released and the 9800xt and x1950xtx were market leaders if im not mistaken?
you are realy cutting your nose off to spite your face if you disreguard ait/amd because of a bad card you had god knows when.
the 2900pro is an excellant card for the money and should be seriously concidered by any one shopping in that price bracket.
though like many others have stated if your persistant not to buy ati buy a second hand 8800gts 320mb form the bay, putting a 8600gt with a Q6600 for the purpose of gaming is like using a buzz saw to make your ferrari a soft top

I havn't a clue either all i know is that there are posts on here i never did and then i went onto ocuk round a friends and it logged me in automatically and id sent him quite a few links from ocuk that was all i could think of. Now i gues it means he guesed my password... which is lame.
