NXE Preview Program emails going out

Even with a 120GB HDD, you're not going to be able to fit a big collection of games on
I believe an xbox disc can hold a maximum of 8GB-8.5GB, while in fact a lot of games are probably much less than this. Even with titles maxing the disc size, you would still fit about 12 games on the HDD. That is not bad. I certainly know that I don't have 12 games that I play so much that I would permanently like on my HDD.

That's my point exactly.

I'm not going to put my 30+ games on the console. I'm only going to put the ones I use reguarly or am currently playing on.

Hopefully this means 90% of the time I'll be playing from the hard drive, if I'm not, no big deal to me.

I hope MS see sense and allow user-upgradeable HDDs in the next Xbox. That is a lovely feature of the PS3.

I hope so too, they could allow it this gen really by releasing some kind of caddy that we can just plug our own SATA drive into. Probably not going to happen but I see no technical reason why they can't.

They probably won't because of security issues.

I'm not sure what security issues there would be once the drive has the 360 image on it.

Edit: Of course I hadn't actually thought of how people would get the image onto the HDD in the first place, it's going to have to be easy enough for any old monkey to do.

Edit2: The caddy would come with an adapter so you could plug it into a USB port on a PC and you'd be supplied a DVD with the image on it so the drive would get formatted and the 360 image applied via your PC.

I'm just thinking out loud here about something that's never going to happen, but it could :p

HI,

Got my E-mail today, hope they update it on friday fancy playing Mass Effect from hard drive to see if it's any better, plus i have two days off to clock it for the 3rd time.

My friend is using NXE right now, got an early access thing.

Find it quite funny he's got a modded Xbox 360 yet got into the NXE and it looks like NXE does not ban people with custom firmware. (on Gears with him now..)
