NZB Client

I'm looking for a client for my MacBook Pro. I use Newsbin Pro on Windows but this doesn't work on the Mac.

I tried sabnzbd but I don't like the UI. I've just installed NZBVortex and although I like it, it's not free. I don't mind paying but if there is another good free alternative then I'd like to give it a go before buying.

It is browser based UI but it's powerful and you can use it on your phone etc.

Why don't you like it? It does everything the other clients do!

Because I'd rather a program and not a Web UI.

I've tried a few but none have been as good and as feature packed as SABnzbd...

You can try other skins/themes for SAB but I don't think you'll get as many features in other programs.

In your profile on NZBMatrix you should be able to find an API code. Copy and paste this code into your preferences in SABnzbd. I think with Newzbin you just enter your username and password in the preferences in SABnzbd (As far as I know...).

You can then just bookmark nzbs on the site and you can get your SABnzbd to grab them from the site every 15-60 minutes.

I've used SAB and Unison and ended up sticking with SAB because although it's ugly it's really really useful.

I have to agree that Sabnzbd is the best usenet client for Mac. Personally my favorite skin is Plush - Gold. It actually looks pretty good with that skin

Another vote for SAB, once you get used to a browser based app it does everything you want it to do.
Unison looks nice but I prefer sab as it runs in the background and very easy to customise/set up.

I used to use NewsLeecher on Windows but since moving to Mac I've happily been using Unison without issue.
